My recount.

 Term 4 Week 2

My recount.

Today I made a recount about lockdown, it was easy for me because I didn't need to think too much. I just wrote what happened during lockdown so far. So anyway, here is my recount.

My fun and boring lockdown.

On 17th August 2021, delta hit New Zealand like how lightning hits a rod, and that's when it all started. The case numbers started increasing, the hospitals started filling up, and then that's when the most horrible thing happened, level four lockdown had begun! I was petrified by the news, in my head I was thinking, "this is horrible, no terrible, no that's not what it is, it's dreadful!" I was tremulous and confused inside, but outside I was just a normal kid, with a normal face. "This is alright", I said , "this is alright, it can't be that bad, can it?" Each night I said to myself "see this isn't so bad." And I was right it wasn't that bad, it was actually quite fun. I got to cook with my mum, play soccer with my family every single day, read more books, watch more tv, and best of all, have movie nights everyday, if I wanted to. Everyday lockdown started to get more, and more fun. I couldn't resist telling myself that lockdown, which at first seemed tedious and dreadful, was now very fun and exciting. That excitement didn't last very long, after a couple of weeks it was back to square one. The only difference is this time I wasn't terrified, bewildered or bored, I was angry and wanted to be with my friends. But on 21 September everything changed, Auckland moved to alert level 3, I started having more hope and getting less angry, the best thing was that case numbers were decreasing. I knew that it was still lockdown, but I didn't actually care anymore, because now I have more hope. Now, instead of feeling sorry for myself, I actually look forward to the next day, hoping that lockdown will end.

Transformations.

 Term 4 Week 1

Transformations.

Today our maths task was to create different tivaevae designs using different transformation skills. I have never tried this before so it was quite hard for me, the design took me about an hour. If you want to try it and you don't know how to do it, press this link.  So anyway, here are my tivaevae designs.

Stay hygienic.

Term 4 Week 1

Stay hygienic.

Today our writing task was to make a PSA (public service announcement), I had never made a PSA before so it was a bit hard for me. I made the PSA in canva, where you can make videos, posters, presentations etc. The best part is, whatever it is that you choose to make, the results are always good. Because of canva the PSA wasn't that hard to make. So anyway, here is my PSA.

Snowflake.

 Term 4 Week 1

Snowflake.

Today the maths task was to make a snowflake out of coloured paper, but I don't have coloured paper at my house so instead of making it out of paper I made an online snowflake. Luckily I already knew a website to make online snowflakes her is the link if you want to go and make an online snowflake yourself. Anyway here is my snowflake.

Lockdown.

 Term 4 Week 1

Lockdown.

Lockdown has not been great for me, but I'm kind of glad we had a lockdown, because my kumon homework was driving me crazy! At least now I don't have to stress about finishing my kumon homework on time. During lockdown I started going on more walks, usually I don't really have the time to go on walks, not even short ones. Lockdown has actually allowed me to spend more time with my family, and as I said before, I don't usually have the time. Lockdown has also allowed me to do more things, like watching more movies, cycling more, cooking with my mum and many more. How has lockdown been for you? Did you get to do anything new, that you haven't been able to do out of lockdown? If so please feel free to comment it down, I would love to hear about your lockdown.

Cook Island greetings.

 Term 4 Week 1

Cook Island greetings.

This week is Niuean and Cook Island week, so my class has different language challenges every single day. Today's challenge was to screencastify yourself saying Cook Island greetings. It was quite easy for me because I already know some Cook Island greetings. So anyway here is my screencastify.

Beach Safety.

 Term 4 Week 1

Beach Safety.

This week our class had to make beach safety posters. It was easy for me because I already know the best app to make posters, canva. Canva is a app where you can make posters, slides and heaps more. But the best part is, after you have finished making whatever you choose, the results are always good. So anyway, here is my poster.

Niue Greetings

My Geoboard.

 Term 4 Week 1

My Geoboard.

Today we had to do maths tasks, which was usually quite easy and boring, but today everything changed. Today, the maths task itself changed of course, but instead of being easy and boring, it was kind of easy and fun. Today we had to do geometry, which of course I already knew. For geometry we had to use a Geoboard, which I had never used before, so it was quite exciting for me. Here is a picture of my task.
